Federation of Brunei Malay Entrepreneurs Received Courtesy Call from Pakistan Diplomat

The Federation of Brunei Malay Entrepreneurs (PPPMB) yesterday received a courtesy call from Ahmed Ali Sirohey, Acting High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam.
Present to welcome the Acting High Commissioner was the President of PPPMB, Dr Hj Abd Latif Hj Chuchu. During the visit, the Acting High Commissioner has introduced the business climate and overall economic prospect in Pakistan to members of the federation.
Ahmed Ali Sirohey has expressed his desire to seek closer cooperation between Pakistan and PPPMB particularly in matters pertaining to business and trade activities. It was also revealed during the session that Pakistan was ready to support and work with the federation by bringing in investors from the country to form a joint-venture in various areas including agriculture, farming, pharmaceutical, textile, Halal products and more. The Acting High Commissioner also agreed that both Brunei and Pakistan can benefit greatly from improved logistics.
Additionally, the Pakistani government has given full scholarship in agricultural studies located in seventeen universities. The offer is only applicable to members of PPPMB.
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifudddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in his titah has highlighted the importance of economic diversification to help reduce the country's dependency on petroleum sector. The Federation of Brunei Malay Entrepreneurs is one of the organisations that is actively answering the call made by the Government of His Majesty the Sultan by establishing business ties with other countries including People's Republic of China, Japan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
