In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan, the Belait District Women's Welfare Association yesterday hosted a Khatam Al-Quran at the residence of Abang Haji Hepnie bin OKPSD Abang Haji Abu Hanifah in Kampong Beribi.

About 50 members of various associations under the Council of Women of Brunei Darussalam (WBD) as well as the Muslimah committee of the Kampong Perpindahan Mata-Mata Gadong Mosque were invited to take part in the religious activity.

Also present were Pengiran Hajah Zubaidah binti Pengiran Haji Kamaluddin, President of the Women Graduates Association of Brunei Darussalam (PSW), and Pengiran Hajah Rakiah binti Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, Director of the Women's Section of the Brunei Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB).

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the recitation of verses from the Al-Quran, and ended with a Doa Selamat recitation.

The event was part of the association's annual activities for the month of Ramadhan held in collaboration with the WI1D and aimed to encourage the Khatam participants to read the Al-Quran as well as to strengthen ties between members of the participating associations.
