In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan, Ministry of Development (MoD) and departments under it held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at the Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Mosque in Kampong Tamoi.
According to a press release, present at the ceremony were Dato Paduka Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah, Minister of Development; Dato Paduka Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, Deputy Minister of Development; Haji Muhammad Lufti bin Abdullah, Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance); Eddie bin Dato Paduka Haji Sunny, Permanent Secretary (Technical and Professional); and Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, Deputy Permanent Secretary.
The ceremony started with the handover of Wakaf by Dato Paduka Awang Haji Bahrin, to Faizal bin
Rosli, Imam of Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji AlMuhtadee Billah Mosque, in the form of a water jet and a leaf blower for the mosque.
This was followed by the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony with the recitation of verses from the Al-Quran led by the Minister of Development.
The ceremony continued with the mass recitation of Takhtim and Tahlil followed by iftar and a mass Maghrib prayer.
The ceremony indicated the end of the recitation of 30 Juzuk of Al-Quran in the holy month of Ramadhan by the officers and staff of the Ministry of Development and its departments.
Previously, the ministry organised a Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Mosque, Kampong Rimba and Kampong Bengkurong Mosque on June 16 and 21 respectively.
