The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) held a Nuzul Al-Quran celebration at the Di-Gadong Hall, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Bulding yesterday.

Present as the guest of honour was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

During the event, the guest of honour presented donations to 38 orphans.

The event was preceded by a mass Zohor prayer led by the minister.

The event then began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Awang Haji Ali Yusof bin Haji Arshad, the Imam of Kampong Pelambayan Mosque.

A recitation of Surah Al-Baqarah, verses 183 to 189, was then read by Awang Mohammad Najib bin Haji Aliakbar, while its translation was read by Awangku Khairul Ikhwan bin Pengiran Alit. Both are from the Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

A special talk in conjunction with the Nuzul Al-Quran titled Al-Quran as the Cure and Medicine for Spirituality and Wellbeing' was presented by Dr. Andas Ismahadi bin Haji Abdullah, speaker from the Islamic Da'wah Centre.
