BRUNEI-MUARA

Thirty-two families in the Brunei-Muara District received donations and gifts yesterday, from the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan), as part of the foundation's charity project in connection with the month of Ramadhan.

More than $42,566.76 was distributed among selected families in the form of cash donations, daily essentials and food items, during the charity drive led by Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, the Minister of Education, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors.

The contributions were intended to assist the families in preparing for the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations.
One of the recipients, Awang Anak bin Darahman, expressed his gratitude to the Government of Brunei Darussalam and Yayasan for the assistance extended to his family.

Currently living with six other families in STKRJ Lambak Kiri, the 64-year-old pensioner received financial contributions and basic necessities during yesterday's charity drive.

The Yayasan Ramadhan charity drive in the Brunei-Muara District was also conducted in collaboration with the Four Wheel Drive Association of Brunei Darussalam.

Also participating in the charity project was the Managing Director of Yayasan, Haji Brahim bin Haji Ismail, along with several government officers, as well as officers and staff members from Yayasan.

The Yayasan Ramadhan charity drive started this year in Temburong on June 15, before being extended to Belait on June 21 and on June 24 in the Brunei-Muara District.

The charity drive will proceed next to the Tutong District.
