BIFEX 2016 Launched at International Convention Centre

 June 25th, 2016  |  09:39 AM  |   2777 views

JALAN STADIUM, BERAKAS

The second instalment of the Brunei Islamic Fashion Exhibition (BIFEX) 2016 was officially launched yesterday at the Plenary Hall of the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas.

It is organised by VS Event Management in collaboration with the Brunei Darussalam International Showcase and Songket Wedding.

Present as the guest of honour at the event was Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Hajah Siti Radhiah binti Pengiran Maharaja Lela Sahibul Kahar Pengiran Anak Haji Mohd Yusof.

The launch began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah read by Haji Muhammad Majdey bin Haji Zawawi, followed by a welcoming speech by Hajah Anie Nurbaiti binti Dato Paduka Haji Ahmad, Personal Assistant at VS Event Management, who highlighted that it is possible to be fashionable whilst still adhering to the Syariah compliant laws and that there is beauty in covering the awrah.

"This event will feature established and emerging designers with varied collections from Islamic casual wear to high fashion Islamic wear as we are bringing around 80 exhibitors in this year's fair," said Hajah Anie.

The speech was then followed by a Doa Kesyukuran and a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the event. The guest of honour was then brought on a booth tour.

BIFEX 2016 will run over the weekend from June 24-26.

Besides offering products and services of renowned fashion houses such as House of Doll, Julia Betty, PAJ by Azza Elite and Yasmieen Zara Boutique, the event will also be holding activities, interviews and meetand-greet sessions with Malaysian celebrities such as Fazura, Sazzy Falak and Aaron Aziz.

This year's BIFEX 2016 is the largest ever to date, with just under 100 exhibitors, both local and international.

The expo is held to stimulate and encourage economic activity and to create business ties among local and international exhibitors alike, in addition to helping organisers who wish to promote and encourage modest and Islamic fashion among the community.

Although fairly new, the exhibition is the largest locally hosted Islamic fashion exhibition while it also strengthens business ties with fellow neighbouring countries.
