Instead of typing in your password, open your laptop while wearing your Apple Watch and you'll be logged in.
You'll be using your password less on Apple products -- thank goodness.
If you're wearing and logged into your Apple Watch, a new, password-less method will automatically log you into your MacBook when you open it, Craig Federighi, senior vice president of software engineering at Apple, said Monday at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference.
The Apple Watch already knows who you are and whether you're sitting in front of your computer, so why bother making you enter a password, too? The change is part of a broader move away from passwords as the primary way to log into your devices. That's for the best, cybersecurity experts say, because new methods for logging in eliminate the security holes passwords can introduce.
