The opening ceremony of the 9th annual sports day of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) took place yesterday and was attended by undergraduates, lecturers and staff of the esteemed religious institution.

Present as guest of honour was the Acting Ra'es of KUPU SB, Dr. Ustaz Haji Adanan bin Haji Besar.

In his speech, Dr. Ustaz Haji Adanan praised the achievements and efforts of the undergraduates, and hoped that sports and healthy recreational activities will be an important part of their lives, whether they do it within the compounds of the institution or at other places.

Awang Muhammad Rusaini bin Awang from the Sports Exco and Student Recreational Association of KUPU SB 2015/2016, in his welcoming address, touched on the objectives of the annual event which included enhancing the relationship among lecturers, staff and undergraduates as well as the community of KUPU SB in general.

Four teams namely, Hijau (Darussalam), Biru (Darulmakmur), Kuning (Darulhana) and Merah (Darul Izzah) competed against each other in 12 sports categories for male undergraduates and eight sports categories for female undergraduates.

The event also included the reading of Asma'ul Husna and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Awang Abdul Hafiizh bin Abdul Musawwir from the Religious Exco and Takmir Surau Student Association of KUPU SB 2015/2016.
