After the defeat against Chile last Tuesday, the coach of Venezuela' s national soccer team, Noel San Vicente, might leave the team, local press reported on Wednesday.
"I have taken a decision. In the next hours I will try to meet with the President of the Venezuelan Football Federation," said San Vicente cited by local press.
Venezuela was beaten by Chile 4-0 Tuesday in a South American Qualifying Tournament match towards Russia 2018.
After the game, San Vicente said it was a pity that Arquimedes Figuera had to leave the field after 20 minutes due to an injury.
"Previously, Figuera had a good performance against Peru. He was playing well against Chile, but after his exit we could not recover," said the Venezuelan coach.
San Vicente also said Chilean defender Gonzalo Jara had to be expelled instead of only receiving a yellow card after a fault against Venezuelan Josef Martinez.
Last year in Copa America 2015, Venezuela was eliminated in the first round after losing to Peru and Brazil.
Venezuela has only one point in six qualifiers. The only point was for the tie against Peru last week.
