72 Summonses Issued During ‘Ops Samseng Jalanan’

MIRI, SARAWAK
A total of 72 summonses for various traffic offences were issued by Miri traffic police during an operation codenamed ‘Ops Samseng Jalanan’ along Marina Park City to curb illegal racing on Sunday.
The summonses were issued under the Road Transport Act, 1987.
The operation which was conducted for six hours from 5pm was led by three officers and 10 traffic policemen.
During the operation 33 motorcycles were seized and most of the offenders were aged between 16 and 25.
It is understood that police had received numerous complaints from members of the public about illegal racing near the area.
