His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday afternoon consented to receive in audience Jose Rene D Almendras, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, who is currently in Brunei Darussalam on an official visit.

During the audience ceremony, His Majesty and the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines discussed bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of the Philippines, as well as exchanged views of regional and international matters.

Accompanying the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines at the audience was Meynardo L Montealegre, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Brunei Darussalam.

Also present during the audience ceremony was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and the Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
