BRUNEI DARUSSALAM
As part of its annual charity and corporate social responsibility programme, DST is preparing for its Ihsan Kasih' Ramadhan Charity Drive which will commence on May 30 and end on June 23.
More than 120 less fortunate households in Brunei, Tutong, Temburong and Belait districts will be receiving donations from DST in the form of household goods and personal donations, according to a press release.
The one-month drive will seek to aid the poor and the destitute by donating groceries and household necessities. In preparation, DST volunteer staff came together to prepare the items for the drive at DST Headquarters in Tungku Link.
DST Ihsan Kasih Ramadhan Charity Drive is one out of four parts of DST's Corporate Social Responsibility programme Ihsan Kasih'. With the charity drive beginning just before Ramadhan and ending in the month of Ramadhan, the intention is to illustrate and highlight compassion and provide aid to the less fortunate in society.
Elixsurian bin Haji Busu, Manager of Group Corporate Communications at DST shared his experience in preparing for the charity drive project. "This is now our 9th consecutive year doing this charity drive and we always find it a rewarding and meaningful experience to reach out to the poor and destitute who need the extra assistance to their current living situation. During our charity drive we are entrusted with the responsibility to get to know the recipients who share their experiences so that DST can look into providing further aid."
DST has over 150 staff volunteers who will run this project starting from the preparation of household items up till the donation accompanied by our DST Senior Management.
The DST Ihsan Kasih' Ramadhan Charity Drive is set to embark to Ulu Belait on May 30, Ulu Tutong on June 1, and to Temburong on June 2.
