BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

A youth yesterday settled his BND$2,500 after pleading guilty to possession of smuggled cigarettes.

Mohammad Khalil Syaffiq bin Haji Ahmad Sufri, 21, failed to declare the cigarettes when he arrived in his vehicle at the Kuala Lurah Control Post at 12.52pm on February 25.

Senior Magistrate Lailatul Zubaidah binti Hussain heard that Customs personnel found six cartons and nine packets of cigarettes hidden in the vehicle.
