Hazy Conditions Continue to Blanket Brunei Darussalam

BRUNEI DARUSSALAM
Brunei Darussalam has been experiencing slight to thick hazy conditions since March 20, with a minimum horizontal visibility of three to nine kilometres.
This hazy condition is due to the smoke originating from the local burning of forest fires and transboundary haze originating from neighbouring countries blown in by the prevailing northeasterly winds.
Continuous absence of rain activities locally and generally much less rainfall intensities received by the country for the past few weeks have also caused the haze condition to persist.
The Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department said they shall continue to monitor the weather and climate condition closely and will issue further weather advisories or warnings, as and when necessary.
For the latest weather update, the public can contact a duty meteorological forecaster at the Brunei Forecast Centre, through Weather Line 114, or visit the centre's website at www.gov.bn or Facebook (bruneiweather) and Brunei WX application.
