MUKIM KIUDANG, TUTONG
The nationwide 70 times Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for the Mukim and Village Consultative Councils (MPMK) took place yesterday at Pengiran Muda 'Abdul Wakeel Mosque, Mukim Kiudang, Tutong District.
The Minister of Home Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong was the guest of honour at the ceremony that is being held nationwide in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 70th birthday.
The event was participated by 420 participants that included adults and students.
The ceremony was launched on March 1 at Perpindahan Negara Bukit Beruang Mosque, Tutong by Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Awang Haji Idris bin Haji Ali.
