Land Department Introduced Online Land Payment via LARIS

BRUNEI-MUARA

The Land Department of the Ministry of Development is extending their services to land owners by introducing an online land payment function via their Land Application and Registration Information System (LARIS).

According to a press release, this service enables land owners to pay their pending land payments online - including annual rent, stamp duty, premium and registration fees - using credit cards, with electronic receipts emailed directly to the users e-Darussalam account.

There are also plans for the online payment mode to be extended to include online banking in the near future.

This initiative is part of the Land Department's continuous efforts to further improve their services to the public towards facilitating the ease of doing business in Brunei Darussalam.

The Ministry of Development introduced the LARIS in February 2016 to ease land applications and speed up the land approval process.

LARIS enables land owners to access online land information and obtain approval on transfer of land ownership, renewal of expired lease for private land, change of land special conditions, land charge to financial institution and private land lease (more than seven years).

Since May 1, all land approval applications made via law firms have been submitted through LARIS.
