Home Bakers Gearing Up for Ramadhan Season

 May 26th, 2016  |  08:52 AM  |   497 views

BRUNEI-MUARA

Just two weeks before the holy fasting month starts, home bakers are currently busy taking orders from the public to fill in their orders.

Dayang Noorhasnida binti Asli, the owner of Sumayyah Bakeryz, explained that she actually needed to accept orders as early as April this year and hoped that her cakes will be well-received by clients.

She also shared that her dream is to make her business bigger by moving from home baking to international exports.

Similar to other and most local Ramadhan home bakers, she uses social media sites such as Facebook to sell her products.

She also sells her baked goods through 'cube' shops, which are gaining increasing popularity in the country, as well as confectionery or convenient shops.

Lyza De Clara, another entrepreneur, said that they have to take orders around a month prior to Ramadhan because cakes need time to be produced right.

The local entrepreneurs therefore encourage those interested to order as early as possible to ensure high quality and the right taste.
