4 Local Fencers Set for SEAP Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship in Manila

BERAKAS, BRUNEI-MUARA

Four fencers will be hoping to emulate the successes of fellow compatriots Anaqi Danish Asahrin and Nadira Pang Mohd Rais Pang when they travel to Manila to compete in the Southeast Asia Pacific (SEAP) Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship this week.

Anaqi Danish will also be joining the junior category (under-21) in Manila as Brunei Darussalam harbour hopes of adding to their medal haul.

National fencer Hardiwan Shah, who bagged bronze in last year's competition, has set his sights on winning a medal of a different colour on this occasion.

"It is going to be challenging. I will do my best. My aim is to improve and of course the most important thing is to win medals for Brunei," Hardiwan said.

Hajah Anis Sabrina, who will also be making her return to the competition hoped to better her result from last year.

The remaining members of the junior team will depart today, a press release issued by the BDFF said.
