A thirty-five-year-old local man was charged yesterday in the Magistrate's Court with two counts of house trespassing to commit theft on May 19 at about 5.30pm in Kampong Limau Manis and voluntarily assaulting a foreign man on the same day.

The defendant, Jefuraji bin Latip, was released on bail in the first charge, however, the court decided to deny bail in the second charge as he failed to meet the bail conditions for the first offence.

The defendant's plea was denied when he explained his actions in the court. He will be further remanded in Jerudong Prison until further mention on the case on May 28.

The defendant was charged under Section 451 and 323 of the Penal Code, Chapter 22.
