In a briefing, Lieutenant Colonel Pengiran Noor Rumaizi bin Pengiran Othman, the Chief Instructor of Training Institute, Royal Brunei Armed Forces said the Mobile Demonstration was the result of cooperation between the RBAF, the Second Battalion of the Royal Gurkh Rifles in the country and the Royal Brunei Police Force.

The Mobile Demonstration was the climax of the Regional Jungle Warfare Symposium, RJWS, which focused on the attack operation on the jungle fringes.

The theme of this year's symposium is "Countering Current and Future Threats".  Apart from providing a platform to promote cooperation in information exchange and strengthening future collaboration in multilateral trainings and exercises among the participating countries, the RJWS was also intended to further enhance the practical knowledge in countering threats within the jungle and its fringes at tactical level which is in line with the theme.

The Mobile Demonstration involved more than forty personnel from the participating countries.  The RJWS was held to study the various security threats and challenges with special focus on irregular activities such as terrorism.  At the operations level, RJWS 2018 will develop a better understanding on how such a threat could take advantage of the situation by exploiting the jungle and its fringes.
