A woman tourist from China was pinned to her seat after the express bus that she and 10 others were travelling in overturned and landed in a ditch near Kampung Ganang, Jalan Papar, yesterday.

The express bus belonging to a tour and car rental company, was carrying nine tourists from China and a guide when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle around 2.20pm.

State Fire and Rescue Services Department public relations officer Superintendent Mohd Affendy Ramli said the bus was believed to be heading to Beaufort from Kota Kinabalu when the incident happened.

Only one woman was pinned to her seat and it took only a few minutes for Fire and Rescue personnel to free her.

Four people sustained minor injuries and they were taken to a hospital for outpatient treatment, he said.

Mohd Affendy said the operation ended at 3.16pm without any unwanted incident.
