More than 100 various type birds competed in the Bird Song and Style Competition. The competition which was held in conjunction with the 34th Brunei Darussalam's National Day was divided into 8 categories. It was held at the Sengkurong Civic Hall.

The competition was officiated by Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sporst. Also present were Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Putera Maharaja Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Ghani bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Dewa Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Rahim, member of the Legislative Council and Awang Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, Brunei Muara District Officer. The competition was held to select the champion for the Bird Song and Style competition.
