The Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department reminds the public to give their cooperation in keeping the environment clean. The reminder comes after 6 compounds were issued during a crackdown on littering offences in the capital.
6 people were fined for throwing rubbish in public places. Each offender was slapped a hundred-dollar penalty and was given a week to settle the compound. If they fail to do so, they will be produce in court. For the first offence, the penalty is a hundred-dollar. The second and subsequent offences will carry a fine of 3-thousand dollars and three months imprisonment.
