Minor Offences Act

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

 

Seven individuals have been compounded One hundred dollars each for committing offences under the Minor Offences Act for dumping rubbish in a public area.

 

Three of the offenders, Sopian Haji Sahat, Helemy Anak Srit and Frankey Anak Srit are locals. Meanwhile, the other four are Indonesian, Turmudi Prasetyo and Sohiran, Singaporean Muhibuddin Thiam Bin Abdullah@ Thiam Yau Kong, and Bangladeshi Bokhter Rahman. They were given 7 days to pay the compound. Failure to do so, they will be brought before the court. If found guilty, a fine of one thousand dollars will be given for the first offence and a three thousand dollar fine will be given for the second and any subsequent offences aside from imprisonment of not more than three months.
