Information made viral on social media that is becoming rampant recently was among the issues raised by Yang Berhormat Dayang Khairunisa binti Awang Haji Ash'ari. In response to the query, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office explained on the Standard Operation Procedure, SOP in handling such situation.

First: Ministries have been given the mandate and responsibilities to review as well as evaluate false news or information that went viral at websites or social media. Second: Ministries will take immediate actions and issue response statements, make necessary amendments and then spread it through existing medias. Third: if the false information went viral in websites, the ministries will cooperate with the Prime Minister's Office and Authority for Info-Communication and Technology Industry, AiTi for further information. Four: Feedbacks that will be issued among others must include valid news or information, and then make amendments on the false information.

In addition, the Minister of Communications also shared on the creation of a learning package on public awareness towards the proper usage of social media. Yang Berhormat Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof said this matter is actively being carried out where the secretariat advisory council will monitor the initiative's efficacy and implementation.
