Traffic on the Penang Bridge has slowed to a crawl following an accident involving a tipper truck at KM1.0 heading towards the island.

Vehicles on several areas on the mainland leading up to the bridge were caught in a traffic jam, and the congestion on the North-South Expressway was reported to extend all the way up to Permatang Pauh, leaving many potentially late for work.

Police are still investigating the incident.
