The First Meeting of the 14th Session of the Legislative Council was officially opened today with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan And Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam highlighting the need to give greater attention and to study measures towards enforcing regulations and laws so that they are not taken lightly due to the government's weakness.

Having an Act, adds the Monarch is not sufficient if it is not upheld or authorised through implementation because such is the 'price' of an Act.  In the Titah, His Majesty also highlights the need for the country to continue being active in its economic diversification by exploring other fields including agriculture.
