The Ministry of Education through the Schools Department also presented donations to teachers and students who fell victim to house fires in the Brunei Muara District, victims of collapsed houses and to the family of victims who died of drowning. The ceremony took place at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Education in Berakas.

Awang Haji Ismail bin Haji Zainal, the Acting Senior Special Duties Officer for Corporate at the Ministry of Education as the Chairperson of the ceremony explained that the donation portrays Ministry's care and concern towards the victims. He hoped that the donation will alleviate their burden of the victims, and can be used for important necessities.

The donations were presented by Dayang Hajah Anis Faudzulani binti Haji Dzulkiflee, Acting Director General of Education at the Ministry of Education. Contributions in the form of financial aid were handed over to 45 students and a teacher. The donations came from the funds collected from all departments, sections and units of the Ministry of Education, as well as from Primary and Secondary Schools, colleges and Government Sixth form centres under the Ministry of Education nationwide. The ceremony coincided with the presentation of donation to the family of 2 victim who died of drowning. The victims were the former students of Pengiran Isteri Hajah Mariam Secondary School in Serasa, who drowned in Meragang beach on the 7th of last month.
