Ahead of the 34th National Day celebration, the Senior Citizens Activity Centre in Tutong District also held the hoisting of the national flag. The ceremony took place yesterday morning in front of the Activity Centre's building at the Tutong Civic Centre Complex area.

Present was Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Wahab bin Apong, member of the Legislative Council who is also the Penghulu of Mukim Tanjong Maya. The ceremony also aimed to support Wawasan Brunei 2035 to make Brunei Darussalam a Zikir Nation, based on the concepts of the Malay Islamic Monarchy, MIB and Baldatun Tayyibatun Warabbun Ghafur -- in line with the theme of this year's National Day celebration which is "Menjayakan Wawasan Negara" or Accomplishing the National Vision.

Meanwhile, a similar ceremony was also held at Universiti Brunei Darussalam. It was carried out by the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Army Cadet team, and accompanied by singing of the national anthem. Present was Datin Doctor Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz, the Vice-Chancellor of UBD.

In the Temburong district, the flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Kampung Menengah Community Hall. It was officiated by Awang Haji Meramit bin Haji Damit, Advisor of the Kampung Puni Consultative Council.
