Gambling Case

Acting on information provided by the public about the SCR888 gambling activity, the Anti-Vice and Gambling Suppression Unit, Criminal Investigation Department of the Royal Brunei Police Force has arrested 6 locals and 2 Malaysians who are believed to be involved in carrying out the gambling activities in Kampong Bebatik Kilanas.

 

In the raid, one of the Malaysians arrested is a holder of a visit pass, while the other is a holder of a work pass. All suspects have been apprehended and the case is being investigated under Section 4, for offences involving the handling of gambling sites, Common Gambling Houses Act, Chapter 28. Police also seized 10 laptops containing the SCR888 gambling programme. The Royal Brunei Police Force urged the public to always provide cooperation in providing any information on unlawful activities especially online gambling to ensure that the country is free from criminal activities.
