Two foreigners were found guilty under the Immigration Act for overstaying in the country after their Immigration and work passes expired.

54 year old, Zhengsu Zhang, a Chinese National was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment after his Immigration pass expired for 1848 days.

Meanwhile, 30 year old, Mohammad Nasir, a Bangladeshi was sentenced to 3 months imprisonment and 3 strokes of the cane. He was detained by the Immigration and National Registration Department on last Tuesday at the vicinity of Tamu Kianggeh in the capital.
