RBAF Recruits Passing Out Parade

Trained, efficient and professional personnel are vital in ensuring that the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF will continue to carry out its responsibilities in maintaining the country's peace. Through this blessing, it will certainly contribute to the country's sustainable and competitive economic growth. The Permanent Secretary for Policy and Investment at the Ministry of Finance underscored the matter in his speech at the Passing out parade for the 160th Intake of Male recruits and 53rd intake of female recruits, this morning. The function was held at the Penanjong Garrison.
Dato Paduka Awang Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, is of the belief that the country's peace and stability is one of the important factors in attracting foreign direct investment to Brunei Darussalam which indirectly will improve the country's economic environment which is competitive, conducive, pro-business and pro-investment. Touching on savings and prudent spending including in matters of government item purchasing, every purchase conducted must be made according to the regulations and guidelines stipulated. With such attitude, it can help the government in particular, in ensuring financial stability by enhancing financial management efficacy while not neglecting value for money. Dato Paduka Awang Ahmaddin added that the matter is very important and valuable to be assimilated not only among employees of the Ministry of Defence and the RBAF but also for all civil servants.
Dato Paduka Awang Ahmaddin also reminded the recruits to practise noble and praiseworthy personality values in instilling high discipline including discipline in personal financial management. This is because discipline in personal financial management is vital as it can prevent the individual from being in debt or turning to crime which will in turn jeopardise the individual's career development and family.
One hundred and 63 male recruits from the 160th intake and 56 female recruits from the 53rd intake has completed their basic military training which is 31 weeks for male recruits and 21 weeks for female recruits. Mohammad Zulizam bin Shamri and Dayangku Khalisha binti Pengiran Abdul Rahman were selected as the best Overall Male and Female recruits respectively. Best in Military Skills went to Awangku Aminor Ariffin bin Pengiran Amir Hamzah and Nur Hazirah binti Harun. Best Shooter in Light Arms went to Ahmad Firdaus bin Yusup and Almas Syadwanie binti Kamis. Awangku Mohammad Izzat Suffi bin Pengiran Emran and Siti Marhayati binti Ahmad took Best in Physical Exercise. Best Male and Female Instructors went to Lance Corporal Suhardi bin Kurus and Corporal Linda binti Serudin respectively. Meanwhile, Best Male and Female Platoon Sergeants went to Sergeant Md Ali bin Haji Ismail and Sergeant Hajah Norafizah binti Haji Duraman. Also present was Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
