A civil servant was seriously injured when the Toyota Fortuner vehicle he was driving collided with a Toyota Hilux pick-up truck at Km 15, Keningau-Kimanis Road, early yesterday morning.

District police chief Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Jawila said the 37-year-old victim, who worked as a driver for Sabah State Computer Services Department, suffered severe left rib injuries in the 5.50am incident, while the Toyota Hilux driver, a 21-year-old local man only sustained minor injuries.

He said that on January 12 at about 6.20am, a traffic police personnel from the district police headquarters received information regarding the incident from members of the public.

“Investigations at the scene found that the Toyota Hilux was from Keningau while the  Toyota Fortuner was from the opposite direction.”
