His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah as the Chairman of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Board of Governance this morning attended a Tahlil ceremony in conjunction with the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. The ceremony took place at the Royal Mausoleum.

 

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, the Minister of Education as the Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, as the 1st Deputy Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors and Dato Paduka Eddie bin Dato Paduka Haji Sunny, the Managing Director of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. Also present were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti as the Second Deputy Chairman and member of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Board of Governance as well as Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Home Affairs as member of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Board of Governance.

 

The reading of the Surah Yasin and Tahlil was led by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin, Judge of the Syariah Court of Appeals.

 

Since its establishment, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah has carried out numerous projects and activities in line with its policy and direction in the fields of religion, welfare, education, development and finance. Strategic partners and volunteers are among the great supporters of Yayasan in assisting to develop its charity and community activities.

 

His Royal Highness then poured 'ayeng asah-asahan' or scented water on the tombs of Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit. Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah was established by the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on the 5th of October 1992 in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne. In line with its establishment, Yayasan will continue to become an organisation that is sustainable, highly prestigious and renowned in providing contributions and financial assistance to the country's less fortunate to improve their life quality and become a symbol of socio-cultural excellence and community service in the country.
