The Adaptation of Arabic Language as daily spoken language is a challenge for the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Towards achieving the the objective, efforts should be enhanced starting from the school atmosphere especially from Arabic Stream School. Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs stated the matter in an interview with RTB during a visit to the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Secondary School at Kampung Katok, yesterday morning.
Yang Berhormat Pehin further said, to create such atmosphere, the school activities apart from co-curriculum such as drama practice, reading newspaper and magazine should be implemented. The Arabic School are hope to improve their efforts to be a trilingual educational institute. Yang Berhormat Pehin added, the Arabic School Education has supported the country's vision to produce highly educated and skilled students.
The visit aimed to view and monitor the admission of Year 7 students to the school, consisting students who have passed in their Year 6 students from the Bandar Seri Begawan Arabic Preparation School and the Admission of Year 9 students from the Temburong Arabic School and Belait Arabic School to the school. The delegation also take a closer look at the Year 7 'Sanah' class and mingle with the students. This year, the school welcome the admission of 4-hundred 10 students to undergo their Year 7 studies for 2018. The Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Arabic Secondary School has 130 teaching staff and one thousand 6-hundred and 55 girl students from Year 7 to 11. The school has achieved an encouraging achievement in curriculum, such as 95 point 89 percent pass in the Brunei Religious Certificate Education Examinations 2017.
