Course Closing Ceremony

The "Hybrid Paddy Technology Course: Increasing Production in Brunei Darussalam 2017" ended yesterday morning with certificates presentation. The ceremony took place at the Simpur Hall of the Rimba Horticulture Commercial Centre in Gadong.

 

 The certificates were handed over by Dayang Hajah Aidah binti Haji Mohamad Hanifah, the Director of Agriculture and Agrifood. 25 officers and staff of the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood, Brunei Technical Education Institute: Agro-technology Campus and local rice farmers participated in the course which was organised by the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood and Yuan Longping High-Tech Agriculture Company Limited with the support of the Ministry of Trade of the People's Republic of China. The course was part of the continuous collaboration between Brunei Darussalam and the People's Republic of China in the field of rice farming. It is in support of the initiative of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism to increase rice productivity in the country to 12 metric tonnes per hectare in 2020 to ensure the sustainable production of local paddy or rice.
