After being raided by the Narcotics National Agency (BNN) early on Sunday morning, MG International nightclub in West Jakarta will most likely lose its business permit as the Jakarta Tourism Agency plans to issue a recommendation letter to revoke its license, an official has said.

Agency head Toni Bako said Monday that his agency would issue a recommendation letter to the Capital Investment and One Stop Integrated Services Agency (PMPTSP) to revoke the nightclub's license.

Tori said his agency would issue the letter on Monday, adding that PMPTSP possessed the right to revoke the nightclub's business permit.

Jakarta Bylaw No. 6/2015 on tourism stipulates that nightclubs can lose their permits if they allow narcotics distribution to take place on their premises.

He said his agency had limited resources to monitor nightclubs in the capital, adding he was glad that the city administration and other institutions had helped the agency in this task.

During the raid, BNN discovered a metaphetamine lab on the fourth floor of the nightclub building. Of the 140 guests on the premises, 120 reportedly tested positive for drugs. (rdi/wit)
