The Chambers of Commerce in the country need to play a vital role in together developing the country with the initiative of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam through the Ease of Doing Business initiative which is pioneered by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office. This was stressed by the Minister of Home Affairs during the Oath-Taking and Appointment Letters Presentation ceremony as the Executive Governing Committee for the 41st Tiong Hua Chamber of Commerce, Bandar Seri Begawan for the year 2018-2020.

 

Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong also highlighted that the leadership of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and with the support from all relevant agencies, Brunei Darussalam has rose to 56th place from 190 economies in the Ease of Doing Business 2018.

 

Also present were Her Excellency Yang Jian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam, Awang Haji Mohammad Sunadi bin Haji Buntar, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs and Awang Ajman bin Haji Meludin, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Security and Welfare at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
