In the continuous efforts of the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB to expand its mutual cooperation to the regional and international, a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU was signed with the Institut Agama Islam Negeri, IAIN, Samarinda, Indonesia. The signing ceremony was held at the KUPU SB.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs. Signing on behalf of KUPU SB was Doctor Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, Acting Ra'es of KUPU SB. While on behalf of IAIN, Samarinda was signed by Doctor H.Mukhamad ilyasin, the Rector of IAIN, Samarinda. Through the MOU, both parties have agreed to hold exchange collaboration for students, staff, publishing, research cooperation programme and learning as well as collaboration from time to time. Also present was Awang Haji Serudin bin Haji Timbang, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary for Core and Religious at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
