Four Eye Meeting With Malaysia's Prime Minister​


The 21st Annual Leaders' Consultation between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia took place in a productive and friendly manner. In a Four-Eye Meeting between His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Yang Amat Berhormat Dato Laila Utama Dato' Sri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, both leaders appreciate the strong relations and cooperation that have long been established between both countries.

The 21st Annual Leaders' Consultation between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia took place in a productive and friendly manner. In a Four-Eye Meeting between His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Yang Amat Berhormat Dato Laila Utama Dato' Sri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, both leaders appreciate the strong relations and cooperation that have long been established between both countries.

 

The meeting took place at Cheradi Ratna Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman.  During the meeting, both leaders welcomed the strengthening of the bilateral relations as well as significant growths of political, economy and strategy issues of mutual interest, based on common values and traditions between the two countries.

 

Following the Four-Eye Meeting, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and Yang Amat Berhormat the Prime Minster of Malaysia proceeded to the Baitul Masyuarah to witness the Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and two Framework Agreements.  Also present to witness the signing ceremony was His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office.

 

Signing the MoU between His Majesty's Government and the Government of Malaysia on Co-operation in the Field of Tourism on behalf of His Majesty's Government was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism.  Signing on behalf of the Government of Malaysia was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Dato' Sri Anifah bin Haji Aman, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

 

Signing the Unitisation Framework Agreements between His Majesty's Government as represented by the National Unitisation Secretariat (NUS), and Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), was Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Haji Jamain bin Haji Julaihi, Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister's Office, as Chairman of NUS; whilst signing on behalf of PETRONAS was Yang Berbahagia Muhammad Zamri Jusoh, Vice President of Malaysia Petroleum Management, PETRONAS.

 

Also present were; Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education as Minister-in-Attendance; Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abd. Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance; Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah, Minister of Development; Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Roselan bin Haji Mohamad Daud, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; Retired First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, Deputy Minister of Defence; Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Hisham bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Deputy Minister of Finance; and Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohammad Yusof, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

 

His Majesty then hosted a Luncheon in conjunction with the working visit of Yang Amat Berhormat the Prime Minister of Malaysia for the 21st Annual Leaders' Consultation between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia.  The Luncheon took place at Baitul Rahmah, Istana Nurul Iman.  Also present at the luncheon were; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

 

Joining the delegation of Yang Amat Berhormat the Prime Minister of Malaysia were; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Dato' Sri Anifah bin Haji Aman, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Yang Berhormat Dato' Seri Hishamuddin bin Tun Hussein, Minister of Defence; Yang Berhormat Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, Minister of Works; Yang Berhormat Dato' Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment; Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Dr. Ali bin Hamsa, Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia; Yang Amat Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Musa bin Haji Aman, Chief Minister of Sabah; Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Patinggi (Dr.) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Chief Minister of Sarawak; and His Excellency Datuk Ghulam Jelani bin Khanizaman, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam; as well as senior officers of the Government of Malaysia and Government Linked Company (GLC).  Yang Amat Berhormat the Prime Minister of Malaysia was in the country on a two-day visit.
