Lani bin Karim, 47, and Jainah binti Sarah, 42, had not expected their newborn would be anything other than healthy.
But fate was not on their side; their son, seven-month-old Adam Darwis is suffering from Craniosynostosis, a disease that causes immense swelling on his head.
To relieve him from the pain caused by the swelling, the hospital where Adam Darwis was initially treated only provided painkillers to help him sleep.
Since he was born and up until he was one-month-old, Adam Darwis was admitted at the neonatal care unit in the hospital where he was born, to treat his disease.
Initially, the doctors recommended Lani and Jainah to let them operate their son, however due to post-natal stress and being overwhelmed by the risk, they decided to go against the surgery.
However last month, the scheduled CT Scan was cancelled at the last minute.
The hospital said CT Scan is unnecessary and denied them any further explanation.
The hospital sent them home and prescribed more painkillers.
As a last resort, the couple is appealing to relevant authorities to assist them in providing further treatment for their child at Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC).
