A WOMAN from Klang, Selangor, faked her own kidnapping to run away with her lover, reported Kosmo!.
The woman, 40, went missing after her husband sent her to her workplace on Friday.
North Klang OCPD Asst Comm Mazelan Paijan said the woman made her “escape” after her 55-year-old husband sent her to a secondary school here, where she worked as a cleaner. The couple had been married for 20 years.
ACP Mazelan said the man immediately lodged a police report.
“Through our investigation, we arrested a woman in her 40s in the Kapar area at about 9.30am on Monday, which led us to the discovery of the (runaway) woman at a restaurant in Jalan Meru, about two hours later,” he said.
ACP Mazelan added that a 37-year-old man was arrested at the Sungai Kapar Industrial Zone at 3.15pm the same day.
He said investigations revealed the purported victim had decided to run away from her husband, who she claims often beat her. She also claimed the male suspect had been her lover for the past nine years.
The 12.30am incident on Saturday started when a snake entered the couple’s house in Kampung Batu Putih, Kulim, Kedah.
The man, in his 30s, became enraged after finding out that his 35-year-old wife had called another man into the house to catch the snake.
Kulim OCPD Supt Ahmad Nasir Jaafar said the man claimed that the wife was cheating on him, which led to an argument.
Supt Ahmad Nasir said the man started pulling his wife’s hair and then slapped and kicked her.
“She suffered bruises all over her body and went to lodge a report at Sungai Kob police station,” he said.
The man was arrested and remanded for four days starting on Sunday.
