Ministry Of Development and the Departments Held a Discussion Session

The Ministry of Development and the departments under it held a discussion session with a number of Legislative Council members at the Ministry. The discussion was chaired by the Minister of Development, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah. Meanwhile, the delegation of Legislative Council members was led by Yang Berhormat Awang Ong Tiong Oh.

 

The Minister of Development in his welcoming speech among other matters shared on frequently raised issues such as infrastructure and coordination management including maintenance works, repairing and upgrading physical government assets. Issues related to other responsibilities of the ministry such as waste management, land use policy and process, development planning conditions and process as well as other services conducted directly by the Ministry were also discussed. Yang Berhormat Awang Ong Tiong Oh as the representative of the Legislative Council members in his speech stated that the discussion session is one of the spaces utilised to highlight issues and proposals that can be used as examples in the plan to develop Brunei Darussalam.

 

During the session, a short video clip was shown portraying the role and function of the Ministry of Development in providing national infrastructure towards achieving quality life, continuous sustainable development and prosperity of the country.  Also present were Awang Haji Muhammad Lutfi bin Abdullah, Permanent Secretary for Administration and Finance; Awang Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, Permanent Secretary for Technical and Professional and Awang Shahrom bin Haji Suhaimi, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary.
