Brunei Motor Show 2017

His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah this morning officiated the 'Brunei Motor Show 2017'. The function took place at the BRIDEX Hall 2 in Jerudong.

 

Upon arrival His Royal Highness was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, Minister of Communications. Also welcoming His Royal Highness was Awang Hafriz Fayadh bin Haji Musa, General Manager of CONFEX Sendirian Berhad, as the Chairman of the Exhibition's Organising Committee.

 

The function began with a reading of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, led by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin.

 

In his welcoming address, the Chairman of the Organising Committee among other matters touched on the exhibition and launch of the video produced by the participating companies, 'Motoring BN TV'. His Royal Highness officiated the opening of the exhibition. His Royal Highness also presented tokens of appreciation to the supporters, partners and sponsors of the exhibition. His Royal Highness then received a Pasambah from the Chairman of the Organising Committee. His Royal Highness also watched a video presentation on the launch of the 'Motoring BN TV's first episode'.

 

Covering an area of some 86 thousand square metres, the exhibition showcases newly launched car models, high-powered cars and motorcycles as well as the latest car accessories. Gathering local car dealers under one roof, the exhibition is participated by major care dealers from the Brunei Automobile Dealers Association, PPAB, as well as car and motorcycle accessories dealers. The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Communications and Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism with the cooperation of the Land Transport Department and Brunei Shell Marketing, BSM and BIBD At-Tamwil, as partners. Also taking part are a number of other sectors, such as tourism, entertainment, food and drinks.

 

The two day exhibition is filled with family-oriented activities. There is also a child care area in the hall. Entrance tickets are 8 dollars per person, while entrance for children under 10 years is free. Part of the ticket sales will be contributed to charity organisations.

 

His Royal Highness also watched a drift exhibition. His Royal Highness then took a closer look at the public bus facility showcased by the Land Transport Department. Public buses are one of the country's public transportation improvement projects. It is aimed at establishing an efficient public transportation system, which is also sustainable, safe and eases the public's movement. A number of strategies and initiatives have been lined up, are and will be implemented, among them the Brunei Rapid Transit public bus. 

 

Also present were Awang Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications; Awang Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism as well as Doctor Haji Supry bin Haji Awang Ladi, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications. The organisers hope to showcase a bigger exhibition with participation from regional and international car dealers in the near future. The exhibition is open until tomorrow from 9 in the morning until 9 at night. Shuttle bus services are available for the public from the Jerudong Park Amphitheatre to Bridex Hall 2.
