The 8th Southeast Asian Youth Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran will take place for three nights starting today. 21 Qari and Qariah from host country Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia , Republic of Indonesia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Republic of the Philippines, Republic of Singapore, Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, Thailand and for the first time, Timor Leste will present their readings at the Musabaqah. Yesterday afternoon, several participants have arrived in the country.

Present to welcome the participants at the Brunei International Airport was Awang Haji Noor Jusmin bin Haji Abdul Samad, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The 8th Southeast Asian Youth Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran will take place at the International Convention Centre in Berakas. This biennial event will be broadcasted live by Radio Television Brunei for three days through RTB Perdana; RTB Sukmaindera and radio networks.
