The Jerudong International School's measure to cater the need for compulsory religious schooling in upholding the Compulsory Religious Education Order 2012 is correct and wise. Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs stated the matter at the presentation of the Primary Six Religious Schools Certificate for the Jerudong International Religious School. The ceremony took place this afternoon at the JIS Art Centre Auditorium.

The Minister of Religious Affairs added that if other private schools decided to cater and provide the facilities for Muslim pupils for religious schooling at their establishment, such action is highly welcomed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. At this ceremony, 65 students who passed the Primary Six Religious Schools Certificate examination in 2016 received their respective certificates. 48 students attained Grade 1, 11 obtained Grade 2 and 6 others obtained Grade 3. Out of all the students, 12 achieved 5 aggregates, and the school accomplished a hundred-percent pass percentage.
