Brunei Darussalam is a Youth Excellence Hub as it is capable of creating a regional program namely the Southeast Asian Youth Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran that inculcates appreciation towards the values of Al-Quran in shaping the youth's personality. This year's edition will see 21 Qari and Qariah from ASEAN-member nations take part in the competition, and for the first time on the invitation of His Majesty's government, Qari and Qariah from Timor Leste will also compete in the Musabaqah. This was stated by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports during a media conference on the Musabaqah this morning.

Awang Haji Noor Jusmin bin Haji Abd Samad explained that the Musabaqah is the pride of the nation as it has brought impact towards the youth in the region especially in improving the Quran reading quality apart from strengthening cooperation among the youth.

Also present was Awang Haji Zafri bin Haji Mohamed, Acting Director of Youth and Sports. The Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran will commence this Tuesday for three nights in a row. The Musabaqah will be aired live by Radio Television Brunei through RTB Perdana; RTB Sukmaindera and radio network.
