BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Muslims should always be humble and grateful to Allah the Almighty for the blessings and bounties given to them. This is because Allah has given much to mankind such as the blessings of peace, prosperity and security. People would never be able to count Allah's blessings and bounties to them.  The matter was highlighted in the Friday sermon titled, "Bersyukur Dan Berterima Kasih".

In the Khutbah or Friday sermon, the prayer leaders said to be grateful to Allah the Almighty was not a difficult thing to do and could be done in many ways.  This included being thankful in the heart in silently acknowledging that all the blessings are bestowed by Allah.  Secondly one could be grateful by reciting prayers that thank Allah the Most Benevolent such as Subhan-Allah, Alhamdulillah and Allahu Akbar.  A hadith or Prophetic tradition narrated by Imam Muslim says, "Verily, four things are most liked by Allah, namely saying Allah the Most Sublime and Allah Praise to Allah.  Showing gratitude by way of deeds by using all Allah's bounties and gifts in the name of Allah.

The prayer leaders or Imam said this included by donating one's wealth to the poor, giving endowments, and giving alms to the very needy.  Other ways included imparting knowledge to other people, and in the case of status or rank, not to use them wrongly but for the good of others and fighting against misdeeds and cruelty. The sermon continued with a reminder on the many facilities given by the government, and the need to practice cleanliness.   The prayer leaders said it was the duty of the people they maintain cleanliness and to make use of the garbage bins provided for the disposal of rubbish.   They said the public should keep public facilities and infrastructure clean, including the Eco-corridor Park, the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge and many more.
