Opening Of 'UBD CoNECT Fair'

As a world-ranked institution, University Brunei Darussalam, UBD has steadily provided and supported its students and Alumni with several avenues to assist them in achieving certain skills pertaining to their respective programmes. This was highlighted by the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, during the opening ceremony of UBD CoNECT Fair 2017, this morning.
Doctor Haji Azman bin Haji Ahmad said that the fair is a platform which will encourage and strengthen collaborations between the university, UBD Alumni, the public as well as the private agencies in addressing the unemployment issue or skills gap among graduates in this country. The fair also allows the industry and employers to give their feedback to UBD and other higher education institution in Brunei Darussalam of the qualities and skills needed in the current as well as future job market.
Organised by the Centre of Networking, Employment and Career Training. This year's UBD CoNECT Fair 2017 puts the spotlight on career developments for higher education students and graduates in the country. Various options are available in UBD such as internships and mentorship programmes, the fair showcases how students and graduates can further develop in their chosen paths. Job seekers and aspiring entrepreneurs can also utilise business support as a platform to improve their professional networks. The three-day Fair is held from today until Friday starting 8:30 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon.
