New Year 1439 Hijrah Celebration

​Mosques, suraus and religious halls in the other three districts also glorified the Islamic New year of 1439 Hijrah. In the Tutong District, the main focal point of the event was the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Tutong Town.

 

Present was Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Education. Also present were members of the Legislative Councils, Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Wahab bin Apong and Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ramli bin Lahit as well as Awang Shamsul Bahrin bin Haji Mohd Hussain, Tutong District Officer. The celebration began with the reading of doa marking the end of 1438 Hijrah, followed by the Mass Fardhu Maghrib and Sunat Hajat Prayers as well as the reading of the new year Hijrah doa. The celebration was enlivened with a tazkirah or short talk.

 

In the Temburong District, the celebration was held at Utama Mohd Salleh Mosque in Bangar Town. Present was Dato Paduka Awang Haji Jamain bin Haji Julaihi, Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister's Office. Also present were Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu, Legislative Council Member and Awang Mohd Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud, Temburong District Officer. The reading of doa marking the end of 1438 Hijrah, was followed by Mass Fardhu Maghrib Prayer and Reading of new year Hijrah doa.

 

Meanwhile in the Belait District, the focal point of the ceremony was at the Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque. Present was Dato Paduka Awang Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance. The reading of doa marking the end of 1438 Hijrah, was followed by Mass Fardhu Maghrib Prayer and Reading of new year Hijrah doa. Also present was Awang Haji Azmi bin Haji Abdul Rahim, Acting Belait District Officer.
